01. FRIENDSHIP

"Now I know I can just relax into deeper friendships...The angst is gone, and it feels great." -Kate Murphy

Summer is a beautiful time for friendship. Remember when you used to pop on over to your friends house during the summer to spend the entire day together? It is time to lean into your circle, deepen friendships and restore our hearts.

02. PURPOSE

The 2020 Tokyo Olympics has begun, making headlines and history. If the Games are to survive, change has to be embraced, particularly as new generations become the future drivers. Gender equality, technological advancement, and new events that highlight individual athletes over team sports -- skateboarding, karate, and sports climbing -- show a shift towards the younger generation.

Meet Momiji Nishiya of Japan. At only 13 years old, she becomes the youngest gold medalist ever, skateboarding. By nailing her last three tricks, she edged out Rayssa Leal, A fierce 13-year-old Brazilian.

03. REST

Lean into the pause.

04. STRONG BODY

We know that going to the gym and pumping some iron is good for your overall health. Strength training increases muscle mass, tones muscles, and strengthens bones. It also burns fat.

The University of Kentucky and the University Nebraska have been investigating the molecular level of fat cells after a weight training work out. Their findings on a study of mice and humans was that when weight training the fat cells went into overdrive and, in effect, shrink fat.

Add that to the importance of resistance training for living a long life and you might just find a workout you can commit to a few times a week!

05. SPIRIT

The power of kindness and warmth not only enhances the well being of others, but helps refresh our own innate personal spirituality?

There is a spiritual vacuum in life today. Kindness, connection and personal sustainability are traded for busy lives, digital exhaustion and "keeping up". What does "best life" really mean to you, at the heart level, not as defined by social media, status, or by others?

The moment our intentions become unrooted to our deeper purpose, whether we intend it or not, we create little fractures in our identity.Learn to identify these moments and create time for pause, reflection and healing. Be kind for the sake of kindness, and nurture your spirit (whatever that means to you).
